Summer Skincare Routine

I have recently recharged my skincare routine to suit the Summer weather and my Summer schedule a bit better. I wanted to have a bit more brightening going on in my skincare routine to help me get that luminous Summer-y glow. So that’s just what I’ve done, added a few key products to streamline my Summer skincare into one that I know I can stick to and will give me bright, glowing skin throughout the entire Summer.

In the morning I start by using the Fig & Yarrow Cleansing Nectar to cleanse and simultaneously tone. It cleans without over-drying and keeps my skin at a balanced pH level. This dual purpose product is great for lazy or busy Summer mornings. Immediately after I’ll go in with the French Girl Organics Crème Lumière Facial Moisturizer in Rose du Maroc. This is such a luxurious skin drink, it seeps right into my skin and creates a great base for my make-up. I also apply a layer of Sun Bum SPF50 in the morning if I am planning on spending a good amount of time in the sun. That’s it for the morning. I just like to keep it quick and simple.

In the evening it gets a bit more interesting. I cleanse with the Jason Gentle Basics Facial Cleanser in the shower. It has a very gentle and simple formula that doesn’t dry out my skin. After the shower I will spray a bit of the My Fair Lainey Balance toner on and let that sink into my skin. After that I’ll apply one to two drops of the the Odacité Jojoba Lavender Serum Concentrate. I focus this on the area nearer my chin as that’s where I tend to get some breakouts. If my skin is looking clear, sometimes I’ll skip the serum. Lastly I apply the Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Sleeping Facial. This is a miracle in a jar for me. I apply a small amount all over my face and go to sleep. When I wake up in the morning my skin looks noticeably smoother and brighter. A real miracle. Because I have allergies in the Summer, I tend to get irritated eyes. So if I notice it start to act up I take a pea sized amount of Vanicream Skin Cream and apply that over my eye area. I don’t use an eye cream but this stuff does the trick as it is intensely moisturizing.

Occasionally during the week I’ll apply the Aveda Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Mask and the Aveda Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner, again both products leave my skin looking much brighter.

As always, all of these products are cruelty-free!

What are your favorite skin-brightening products for the Summer?
