It’s a busy time of the year but that doesn’t mean my want (and need) to DIY everything has flown the coop. I came up with macramé wood spoon that’s simple and easy using just three items. The macramé adds just as simple touch to this little wooden spoon and it makes the spoon perfect for serving sugar in your coffee or tea. And I have to say I think the bulldog on my mug is really loving the macramé.
Here’s what you need:
- Twine, about two or more arm lengths. You’ll need more if you spoon is bigger.
- Wooden spoon with a round or square handle
Start with a simple knot around the top of your spoon. After that you are going to use the same simple knot all the way down the handle of the spoon. Cross the string on the left side of the spoon over the handle, making a figure four. Then cross the string on the right side of the spoon over the left string that’s hanging out on the right side and cross it underneath the handle of the spoon. Bring the right string up through the loop that you created with the left string and the wooden handle. Pull of both ends of the strings until two knots have been made equidistant from each other on the handle. Keep doing this all the way down the handle. Voilà, you have yourself a macramé wooden spoon. As always, if you try out this DIY let me know in the comments or feel free to tag me in social media.
